The Government Affairs Division of BAR is designed to protect and enhance the quality of life of those living in the Birmingham area and Central Alabama by creating a favorable relationship within the government and law making bodies.

The BAR Government Affairs helps monitor local, state, and national legislative issues that affect quality of life issues and the real estate industry, review concerns and make recommendations to the Board of Directors, interview candidates running for local and statewide public offices, hold an annual legislative reception, and generate funds to be used for political activities.

We encourage youto  get involved in our local government, and to familiarize yourself with BAR’s position on local policies.
